The City of Little Rock Fleet Services Department has received national recognition as one of the 100 Best Fleets of North America. With 38,000 public fleets eligible, it is an impressive achievement. Fleet Services will be recognized for this accomplishment at tonight’s regular Board of Director’s Meeting at City Hall.
Fleet Services is responsible for management of all vehicles and motorized equipment used by the City. Little Rock owns approximately 1,300 pieces of equipment, which are purchased, fueled, maintained and disposed of by this Department. Fleet operates two (2) vehicle maintenance facilities and eight (8) automated fuel sites, in addition to a large Vehicle Storage Facility operating around the clock.
Fleet Services is also responsible for impoundment services through the Vehicle Storage Facility. This facility offers a weekly auction of abandoned and unclaimed vehicles, as well as City vehicles that have been removed from inventory.
