It ‘s the ninth time the department has been recognized for its work, which encompasses nearly 1,100 fleet units, making it the largest municipal fleet operation in Arkansas.
“Fleet Services’ motto is that they keep Little Rock rolling,” City Manager Bruce T. Moore said. “The team in place over there does that consistently and professionally. Director Wendell Jones and his entire Fleet crew are very much deserving of this significant honor.”
Little Rock’s Fleet Services holds a position of distinction, sitting in the company of the County of Ventura, DeKalb County, Wake County Government, City & County of Denver, City of Fort Worth, San Bernardino County and Washington State Department of Transportation, to name a few.

“We are very appreciative of the recognition,” said Fleet Services Director Jones. “It would not have been accomplished without the input and cooperation of the entire Fleet Services staff.”
Fleet Services first appeared in the 100 Best Fleets program in 2007, receiving a national ranking of seventh. Since 2006, the department has applied for and earned recognition on the best fleets list nine times, and has been recognized as one of the top 50 public sector fleets by Government Fleet Magazine.
The mission of Fleet Services is to provide cost efficient, quality vehicles, work equipment, vehicle storage, fuel, and other fleet support services to our customers in a timely manner, while being responsible stewards of our natural resources and the tax dollars of the citizens of Little Rock.
The department will play host to the Arkansas Public Fleet Managers Association conference May 12 – 13.
