12th Street Patrol Officers responded to a single vehicle collision in the area of 36^th Street and Chester just after 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2^nd, 2023. When they arrived, they discovered a white Chevy Minivan struck a tree. There were three passengers in the vehicle, one of which got out of the vehicle and walk to a nearby residence for help. The others were extricated and sent to local hospitals. A 15-year-old juvenile was pronounced dead a short time later. 

Accident Reconstruction Officers were called and responded to process the scene and take photographs, collect evidence, and take measurements. At this point in the investigation, no charges have been filed pending a comprehensive review. This investigation is ongoing and next of kin was notified.
