Southwest Patrol Officers responded to a three vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Geyer Springs Road and Young Street on Sunday, April 16, 2023. When they arrived, they discovered 46-year-old Denise Chavez was unresponsive and both she and her passenger was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. Chavez later died as a result of her injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, 18-year-old Alberto Palma of Little Rock, was also injured and transported to a local hospital.

Accident Reconstruction Officers were called and responded to process the scene and take photographs, collect evidence, and take measurements. At this point in the investigation, no charges have been filed pending a comprehensive review. This investigation is ongoing and next of kin was notified.
