Southwest Patrol Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 65^th Street and Geyer Springs Road on December 31st, 2022. MEMS also responded and transported victims to area hospitals for medical treatment; however, one passenger, Cassandra Harris, died at the scene. One driver suffered a broken arm and a concussion. The driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries. Both drivers also provided a urine sample for toxicology testing in accordance with State Law. The Pulaski County Coroner’s Office responded and transported the body of Ms. Harris’ to the Arkansas State Crime Lab.

Accident Reconstruction Officers were called and responded to process the scene and take photographs, collect evidence, and take measurements. A witness was located, and a statement was obtained from them. At this point in the investigation, no charges have been filed pending a comprehensive review. This investigation is ongoing and next of kin was notified at the scene.
