Officers in the Southwest Division responded on July 30th, 2022, at approximately 12:14 a.m., to the 9800 block of the I-30 Frontage Road after reports of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Upon officers arrival, they located Traveion Lowery (B/M 20 years old) unresponsive. Medical personnel were requested and transported Mr. Lowery to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition. Due the severity of Lowery’s injuries, LRPD’s Accident Reconstruction Officers responded to investigate this collision.

Officers made contact with the reported driver, Nicholas Conley (W/M 29 years old), who left the scene but responded back in another vehicle. Officers later located the vehicle involved and transported it to the City Impound for further evaluation once receiving a search warrant. A passenger in the vehicle was also located and treated for minor injuries from the collision.

Preliminary information obtained indicates Lowery was walking southbound on I-30 Frontage Road when a maroon Kia Optima traveling westbound struck him.

Reconstruction Officers later received notification Lowery died as a result of his injuries from this collision. The investigation into this collision is ongoing and Reconstruction Officers are evaluating all evidence and statements from this incident. At this time, no citations have been issued pending a comprehensive investigation. The next of kin has been notified.
