On August 02, 2022, just after 8:45 p.m., officers in the Southwest Division responded to the 5900 block of Geyer Springs Road to a pedestrian-involved traffic collision. Officers identified Aric Turner, a 55-year-old black male, of Little Rock, AR as the pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Anthony Bearden, along with a witness stayed on the scene to meet with Officers. Turner died as a result of his injuries.

Accident Reconstruction Officers were requested to process the scene and collect measurements for their investigation. Preliminary information indicates Bearden was traveling northbound on Geyer Springs Road when Turner was stationary in the roadway and struck by his vehicle. Bearden cooperated with Reconstructions Officers and provided a urine sample per state law. This investigation is ongoing and no citations have been issued pending a comprehensive review. The next of kin for Aric Turner has been notified. The investigation is ongoing.
