LITTLE ROCK, AR - On Thursday, September 1^st, 2022, just after 8:30 PM, officers in the Southwest Patrol Division responded to a call of a subject down in the median along the 5300 block of S. University Avenue. LRPD officers, LRFD, and medical personnel arrived on the scene and located a woman suffering from life-threatening injuries. Officers learned the injuries of the woman were a result of a pedestrian traffic collision. The driver involved, Ronnie Mickles, was still on the scene to meet with officers. The female was transported to an area hospital to receive treatment, however, died as a result of her injuries.  

Mr. Mickles cooperated with Reconstructions Officers and provided a urine sample per state law. This investigation is ongoing and no citations have been issued pending a comprehensive review. Accident Reconstruction Officers have not been able to identify the female, requesting assistance from the Arkansas State Crime Lab. The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE: The pedestrian in this incident has been identified as Ashley Taylor, 37 years old of Emerson, AR.
