On August 10, 2022, Southwest patrol officers were dispatched to a vehicle collision at 9700 Baseline Road.  When officers arrived MEMS and the Little Rock Fire Department were on scene administering medical care to both victims.  One victim, Charlie Johnson, was transported to Baptist Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 10:48 a.m.  The other victim, Brandee Moon of Little Rock, was transported by MEMS to UAMS and treated for a broken right ankle.

Accident Reconstruction Officers were requested to process the scene, interview witnesses, and collect measurements for the investigation. The Crime Scene Search Unit responded to the city impound lot for the collection of photographs. The Pulaski County Coroner responded to Baptist Medical Center and transported Johnson's body to the State Crime Lab. The next of kin was notified of the incident. This collision is still under investigation.
