LITTLE ROCK – The City of Little Rock's cold-weather emergency shelter will transition to 24-hour operations later today based on the intensity of snow expected to fall as early as midday Thursday.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Thursday and Friday, with up to eight inches of snow predicted for Arkansas's capital city.
The 24-hour sheltering operation begins tonight at 6, and it will continue until further notice. Little Rock's cold-weather emergency shelter is located at Dunbar Community Center, 1001 W. 16th St., and it is open to anyone who needs a warm, safe place to take refuge from the weather.
The shelter had been operated on a nightly basis since Sunday.
Transportation to and from the City's shelter is being coordinated by Little Rock-based nonprofit The Van. To request transportation, call (501) 955-3444.
