LITTLE ROCK – Election packets are available beginning today for candidates seeking municipal office in the City of Little Rock and can be obtained online or in person at the City Clerk’s Office at Little Rock City Hall, 500 W. Markham St.

The packets include required forms and a petition to be submitted to file as a candidate for office, as well as information for aspiring candidates including age and residency requirements for municipal positions. The packets also include information on applicable state and municipal election laws.

The filing period for returning completed packets to the City Clerk’s Office begins July 29 and ends at noon Aug. 19. There is no filing fee.

Municipal positions will appear on the General Election ballot in November. They include: Mayor and Little Rock Board of Directors positions for Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 3, Ward 5, Ward 6, and Ward 7. Each position is elected to a four-year term.
