Little Rock Police Officers with the Southwest Division responded to the 7300 block of Dahlia Drive in reference to a vehicular accident and shots fired call at 3:43 a.m., on September 14, 2022. When officers arrived they discovered Calvin Watson, 20, of Little Rock, suffering from gunshot wounds. MEMS and Rescue responded; however, Watson succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Officers circulated the area and located a witness and transported him to the Major Crimes Division.  Subsequently, the Coroner responded and transported Mr. Watson’s body to the State Crime Lab for autopsy.

Homicide Detectives and the Crime Scene Search Unit were notified, responded, and canvassed the area for addition witnesses and video surveillance. During the preliminary investigation, Malik Williams was developed as a suspect in the incident. Detectives sought arrest warrants for Capital Murder and it was approved.  This investigation is ongoing and took place in Southwest Division.
