Little Rock, Ark. (May 26, 2009) – Memorial Day may be over, but the tributes to our troops continue at Cruisin’ in the Rock on Friday, May 29, 2009. This is Little Rock’s monthly show of classic cars, street rods, trucks and motorcycles in the River Market District.

Zach Warren, son of fallen hero Army Sergeant-Major William Warren, will display his 2003 Honda Shadow ACE 750 – EASY 40. SGM Warren died along with 12 other soldiers on January 20, 2007 when their helicopter came under fire in Iraq. The helicopter’s call sign that day was EASY 40. The bike, once belonging to SGM Warren, has been redesigned by Steve Rodman and Nathan Curry, owners of High Octane Design free of charge.

Joining Cruisin in the Rock for the first time is Play & Trade. Along with selecting and presenting the awards for “Best Cruiser”, “Best Truck”, “Best Motorcycle.” Play & Trade will display their Scion that is fully equipped for mobile gaming. The Scion houses a 15 inch flat screen along with an XBOX 360 for people to demo video games.

“Also making their first appearance at the monthly cruises will be the rock band Southern Pickin’. They will debut a song written by Jim Galloway, the band’s lead guitarist,” says Carol Dolan, event chair. “The song highlights the cruisin’ scene in “The Rock”, and the car enthusiasts are thrilled by this wonderful gesture.”

Cruisin’ in the Rock are monthly cruises from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the River Market District and are sponsored by the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Arkansas Pontiac Association and Little Rock Parks and Recreation Department.

“Cruisin’ in the Rock is open to the public and admission is free. The remaining dates for the 2009 “Cruisin’ in the Rock” season are June 12, July 10, August 14, September 11, and November 13.
