LITTLE ROCK (Jan. 12, 2018) – The City of Little Rock continues to respond to complaints about homeless encampments and is working to persuade those living in the camps to accept shelter from area homeless services providers.

City of Little Rock Homeless Services Advocate, Chris Porter has visited the encampments.

“Services are available for those who are willing to accept the services,” Porter said.

City policy calls for the Homeless Services Advocate to make contact with those living in camps to offer services before Code Enforcement Officers post notification that the camp occupants have seven days to vacate.

During extreme weather conditions the City will relax the seven-day time limit to coordinate the camp cleanups so that everyone will have the opportunity to remove their personal items, said City Manager Bruce T. Moore.
