LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (March 5, 2015) -- The City of Little Rock will open at noon on Friday, March 6 due to hazardous road conditions. Public safety and essential personnel will report to work at their designated scheduled time. The City's snow and ice removal efforts started at 5 p.m. on Wednesday and have continued non-stop for more than 24 hours. While progress was achieved throughout the city, the low temperatures forecasted for Thursday night will lead to the refreezing of some of the precipitation that melted during the day. The public is advised to exercise caution if driving is needed during the early morning hours.

Little Rock Public Works will continue to work overnight on the city's primary snow routes maintaining 12-hour rotating shifts. Crews will move to secondary and residential streets once driving conditions on the primary snow routes are deemed safe.

Trash and recycling collection services will restart tomorrow at noon and will be delayed by one day, starting with Thursday's routes. Thursday and Friday routes should be completed by end-of-day Saturday. Tomorrow's road conditions may alter this schedule.
