UPDATE Tuesday at 7:45 am

Little Rock Public Works crews continue to work 12 hour shifts and 24 hours a day to clear streets in Little Rock. Overnight, a crew of 36 employees continued to treat streets in preparation for this morning's commute. The day shift of 88 employees came in at 5:00 am this morning.

Nine spreader trucks are working on the eight established snow routes. With major roads now mostly passable, Public Works Operations anticipates being able to move into residential areas by this afternoon. Public Works has ample sand / salt material for this weather event.

Crews are working quickly and efficiently and the City asks that drivers be aware and mindful of spreader trucks, road graders and workers on the streets across the City.

Public Works Solid Waste crews should begin picking up garbage on Monday's routes this afternoon, as conditions allow. Trash pickup will be delayed up to a day. Solid Waste asks that residents position trash bins at the curb on their scheduled day. Yard waste pick up will be suspended until garbage collection is back on regular schedule.

LRPD officers on patrol continue to be on the lookout for anyone out in the cold who needs a ride to one of the open shelters.
