LITTLE ROCK – The City of Little Rock is today launching an official smart phone app, the newest way to connect with its citizens.

The app, which is available in the Apple iTunes app store and the Android Google Play store, is full of features allowing citizens to access city officials and services, report a variety of 311 issues and locate information on the City’s calendar and public relations channels.

“I am proud to introduce the new City of Little Rock App,” said City Manager Bruce T. Moore. “With the ability to report 311 issues and to call or email my office as well as other City Leaders, this app is yet another way for the city to be open, transparent and responsive to our citizens.”

Under the City Hall tab, the app offers the ability to email or call City Manager Bruce Moore, Mayor Mark Stodola and Little Rock City Directors all at the touch of a button. In addition, users can locate all fourteen City Departments as well as other government agencies and send an email or call to get access to vital services.

In addition to the City's existing 311 call center and online reporting system, the Official City of Little Rock app offers citizens a simple way to submit 311 requests—like potholes, graffiti, missed yard waste, ditch maintenance, bulky item pick-up, and many others—inside the Report Issue feature. Users can include an address and description, GPS-specific location, as well as a photo or video of the issue. Once a request is submitted, you can keep track of pending and completed requests within the "My Issues" section.

Within the Recreation tab, users can find listings for dozens of Little Rock’s award-winning recreation facilities—including golf courses and community centers—beautiful parks, and miles of trails. With one tap you can access easy to navigate photos and descriptions, links to the City's website for more information, maps and driving directions, and contact information.

The Community Information offers important contact and website information for local utilities, recycling, as well as phone and internet providers. A complete listing of local public schools is located in this section with one touch calling and emailing, driving directions, photos and descriptions, and links to each school's website.

App users can also find local weather information as well a complete City calendar combining the City Government calendar—including City Board meetings, Planning Commission meetings, and other events—as well as the Convention and Visitors Bureau calendar—including a myriad of events happening all across Little Rock like concerts, theater productions, exhibits, festivals, and many other exciting happenings that make Little Rock the #1 Great Place to Live.

Inside the News Section are links to posts from Rock the Blog—the City's Blog—and press releases from the City's Public Relations department. Easy to use links will take you directly to the City's Website where you can find more information. Also included in the News Section are links to the City's Facebook and Twitter posts with up to date news and culture happenings inside the City of Little Rock.

The City plans to continue upgrading the new smart phone app to enhance current features and offer more ways for citizens to connect with the City.
