LITTLE ROCK – The City of Little Rock announced the #LRlights Holiday Lights Contest Sunday. Residents of the City of Little Rock are invited to enter the online and social media-based contest to show off their holiday light displays.

“Across Little Rock we see creative and festive light displays throughout the holiday season,” said Ben Thielemier, Little Rock Communications and Marketing Manager. “The #LRlights Holiday Lights Contest is a fun and spirited way to recognize those who help spread cheer this time of year.”

The contest schedule and rules are as follows:

12/8/2013 – 12/18/2013:  Like and follow our social media pages and then submit your outdoor holiday light display photo to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the hashtag #LRlights and your Zip Code. Zip Codes are necessary to ensure Little Rock residency.

12/19/2013 – 12/22/2013:  A small group of Little Rock employees will select (4) four finalists from all the photo entries submitted online.

12/23/2013 – 1/2/2014:  The (4) four finalists will be posted to our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages so the public who follow or like our pages can vote on the winner.

1/3/2014:  #LRlights winner announced!!

“The winner will receive non-stop bragging rights for all of 2014 and a special prize to be announced later in the contest,” said Thielemier. “Let the fun begin!”
