LITTLE ROCK – The City of Little Rock is requesting help from residents impacted by the tornado and on-site volunteers to catalog information about property damage at www.LittleRock.gov/lrdamage.
A comprehensive damage assessment allows the City to evaluate the actual extent of damage, monitor its real-time response and track the progress of recovery. The simple, online assessment tool takes just a few minutes and is invaluable to the City in its data-compilation efforts.
“The online damage assessment portal is yet another tool the City will use in the recovery and rebuilding effort,” Mayor Frank Scott, Jr. said. “This data-forward approach allows us to be smart and efficient about resource allocation, and it provides us with the information we need to support any efforts to secure additional funding.”
Visitors to www.LittleRock.gov/lrdamage will be asked for their name, email address and the exact location of the property they are reporting about. They will be prompted to provide general information about the property and submit photographs. The assessment is for information only and is not part of any application for individual disaster assistance.
As part of its overall damage assessment, the City has created a “before and after” interactive tool that incorporates post-storm aerial photography. A slider function allows users to compare overhead views of locations in the tornado’s path both before and after the storm. To view the imagery, visit www.LittleRock.gov/beforeandafter.
