"Drive to Survive" Tour Features One-of a-Kind “Cheetah” Audi TT Coupe

 

LITTLE ROCK (October 27, 2005) - The Little Rock Zoo will proudly host the Cheetah Conservation Fund Drive to Survive Sweepstakes and Tour this Friday from 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm in conjunction with Boo at the Zoo. 

Drive to Survive features a one-of-a-kind red Audi TT Coupe accented with cheetah spots.  The “cheetah car” will be on display in front of the Zoo entrance along with information about the Cheetah Conservation Fund.  For a donation of $100 to CCF, visitors may enter the Drive to Survive Sweepstakes to win the Audi cheetah car.         

Drive to Survive is sponsored by the Cheetah Conservation Fund, an international organization dedicated to wild cheetah conservation.  Once a common animal found on five continents, the cheetah is now an endangered species.  The largest concentration of cheetahs in the world is in the southeast African country of Namibia.  In Namibia, cheetahs often attack cattle owned by ranchers, leading farmers to kill the cheetah to protect their herds.  CCF has developed a wildlife management strategy to benefit both the cheetah and the farmer by providing trained Anatolian Shepherd dogs to Namibian farmers.  The dogs ward away the cheetah, protecting the herd from the cheetah and the cheetah from farmers.
