Little Rock, AR (Feb. 19, 2008) – Discover the earth as Can You Dig It? returns to the Museum of Discovery, March 20-22.
Can You Dig It? explores the worlds of archeology, paleontology and geography. Visitors learn about dig sites and the grid system by participating in a pre-dug dig site located at the Museum. Visitors will search for treasure hidden beneath the earth and learn about the real-world methods that are helping us learn about the past.
A variety of age-appropriate activities such as a dino dig, science experiments and themed crafts will entertain visitors.
ABOUT THE MUSEUM
Founded in 1927, The Museum of Discovery is Little Rock’s oldest museum. It remains a fixture of the River Market District in Downtown Little Rock attracting visitors of all ages. With over 25,000 square feet of hands-on, interactive exhibits, the Museum is a family destination “where you have worlds to discover.”
The Museum’s mission is to ignite a passion for science, technology and math in a dynamic, interactive environment. The Museum of Discovery is a Smithsonian Affiliate, accredited by the American Association of Museums and a member of the Association of Science and Technology Centers and the Association of Children’s Museums.
Admission is $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for children 1-12, $7.00 for seniors over 65 and free for children under one. Memberships are available. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. The Museum of Discovery is located at 500 President Clinton Ave., Suite 150, Little Rock, Ark.
