Little Rock, AR (March 25, 2008) – Do you know the difference between a prickly stick and a walking stick? How many insects exist worldwide? Learn fascinating facts about unusual insects at Bugfest, April 24-26, at the Museum of Discovery.

Insects are found in nearly all environments on the planet and play a crucial role in human lives. Exhibits throughout the Museum will highlight insects’ habitats, behavior and life cycle. Educators will teach about the important relationship of insects, plants and humans as they answer all your creepy-crawly questions and share facts about some of the world’s most interesting bugs.

People shy away from cockroaches, but at Bugfest, visitors can cheer on their favorite cockroach at “The Great Hissing Cockroach Races,” held in the Discovery Court. Over 3,500 species of cockroaches exist worldwide and they are capable of living over a month without food. Learn more about cockroaches, beetles, bees and more.

Bugfest is sponsored by Central Arkansas Termite and Pest Control and Radio Disney.
