LITTLE ROCK – The City of Little Rock will host a ceremony Wednesday, June 5, at 9:30 a.m. to rename a section of Arch Street to "Bruce T. Moore Way" in memory of longtime City Manager Bruce T. Moore, who passed away in October.

Moore was Little Rock's longest-serving city manager. The Little Rock Board of Directors voted unanimously last fall to name the section of Arch Street from Fourth Street south past City Hall as Bruce T. Moore Way. The renaming of the street honors Moore's legacy and reminds city staff and others who drive past City Hall of his dedication to public service and to Little Rock's residents.

City officials will unveil a new street sign at Wednesday's ceremony. The ceremony will be outside City Hall at the intersection of Markham Street and Bruce T. Moore Way.

Moore started working for the City of Little Rock more than 35 years ago as an intern. He was appointed as city manager in 2002.

A native of El Dorado, Moore had a Master of Public Administration degree from Arkansas State University and a bachelor’s degree from Henderson State University. He served his country as an Army reservist in Operation Desert Storm, and he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. He is survived by a son, Luke Thomas Moore; and by his fiancée, Siobhan Osborne.
