Northwest Patrol Officers responded to 2800 Boyle Park Road on Monday November 27, 2023, in reference to a subject down call for service. Officers arrived to find a black male subject deceased in the roadway from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers secured the scene and notified Homicide Detectives. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy; however, next of kin has yet to be notified. 

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Northwest Division.

#Update: The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Avron Britton.

#Update: On July 24, 2024, 17-year-old Nazir Withers was taken into custody and charged with Capital Murder of Avron Britton.
