Little Rock Launches On-Line Applications
for Boards and Commissions

Press Release
(Little Rock, January 18, 2012)

Applying for a City of Little Rock board or commission just got easier. Now, applicants can fill out and submit their forms on-line. This is part of a continued effort by City leaders to create user friendly processes for citizens.

“Boards and Commissions serve an important role in Little Rock,” said City Manager Bruce Moore. “They are often viewed as part of the front line of City government. We are hopeful that this new on-line application process will encourage even more participation by our residents. Currently, there are 32 boards and commissions. It’s the goal of Little Rock’s leaders to make diligent efforts to appoint citizens who reflect the diversity of our City. On-line applications are one more way to reach out to residents and hopefully generate interest in serving on these important public bodies.” said Moore.

At this time, there are 66 open positions on 17 different boards and commissions

“We have been working with our internet provider, Aristotle, to make sure this new application process is straightforward and uncomplicated,” said City Clerk Susan Langley. “Of course, applicants are still able to download the applications from our website or pick them up here at City Hall if that’s what they prefer.”

Applications will be held on file for two years in the City Clerk’s office. To find out more about the City of Little Rock’s boards and commissions go to www.LittleRock.gov.
