On December 10, 2022, Little Rock Police Officers responded to a "shots fired" call for service in the 2900 block of Battery Street. While en route, Emergency Communications advised a complainant in a Mercedes, cut her foot near the scene. When officers arrived, they located Valandus Rashone Jackson, in the driver’s seat, unresponsive and slumped over suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. MEMS responded and transported Mr. Jackson to an area hospital for medical treatment.
Update: On December 23, just before midnight, Valandus Rashone Jackson succumbed to his injuries. This investigation is now a homicide.
