LITTLE ROCK (April 6, 2018) – The City of Little Rock is hosting a series of public meetings in each of the city’s seven wards over the next few weeks to gather public input about the proposed infrastructure projects for the 2019 to 2021 three-year cycle. Funding for these infrastructure projects comes from the 3/8 Cent Sales Tax for capital projects that was approved by Little Rock voters in September 2011 and the Capital Improvement Bonds approved by Little Rock voters in September 2012.

Since the previous round of projects were approved, City staff has continued to receive suggestions from the public for projects in this cycle. In the summer of 2017, citizens were also encouraged to submit new project ideas.

Beginning in October 2017, staff from the Public Works Department reviewed the suggestions and estimated the cost for the projects. After this review, projects have been identified for each ward that can be completed within the necessary timeframe and the available funds. These will be presented in each ward at these public meetings prior to final approval by the City Board of Directors.

All meetings will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The schedule for the meetings is as follows:

Ward 3 - Vice Mayor Kathy Webb, Thursday, April 12, Hall High School Media Center, 6700 H Street

Ward 2 - Director Ken Richardson, Monday, April 16 Southwest Community Center, 6401 West Baseline Road
