(LITTLE ROCK, AR) – The Arkansas Arts Center’s Friends of Contemporary Craft will present a “Conversation” with world renowned potter Warren MacKenzie on Friday, April 3, 2009, at 6 p.m. in the Arkansas Arts Center Lecture Hall.
Warren MacKenzie is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and currently resides in Minnesota. He has won numerous awards including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Minnesota Crafts Council and a Gold Medal from the American Crafts Council. His work is represented in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian Institution, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and many other prominent museums throughout the world.
A “Conversation” with Warren MacKenzie is held in conjunction with the exhibition Warren MacKenzie: Legacy of An American Potter, on view at the Arkansas Arts Center through May 17, 2009. This comprehensive retrospective features approximately 250 works produced by MacKenzie from 1948 to 2006.
Tickets to the “Conversation” are $15 for FOCC members and $20 for non-members. A light dinner will be served. Reservations are required. To make a reservation, call 501-396-0357.
