Southwest Patrol Officers responded to area of Mabelvale Drive and Mabelvale Circle for a subject down call for service at 4:51 p.m., on Friday, October 13, 2023. When officers arrived, they discovered two male victims, later identified as 47-year-old Marvin Jenkins Sr. and 21-year-old Marvin Jenkins Jr. MEMS was notified, responded and attempted life-saving measures, however, both succumbed to apparent gunshot wounds at the scene. Officers secured the area and notified Homicide Detectives. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner responded to the scene and transported the bodies to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Southwest Division.
