On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, Southwest Patrol Officers responded to a shooting at 7700 North Chicot Road. Upon arrival, officers located two (2) unresponsive juvenile males near a vehicle, suffering from apparent gun shot wounds. MEMS responded and transported both juveniles to local hospitals where one succumbed to his injuries. The other juvenile was treated and released. A third individual was transported to another hospital by private car a short time later. That individual was treated and released as well. Officers secured the scene and notified Homicide Detectives. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.
The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. During the course of the investigation, a fourth person involved, 18-year-old Brayshawn Williams, responded to the Southwest Substation and provided a statement. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Southwest Division.
