Patrol officers with the Northwest Division responded to a shooting call at 6200 Colonel Glenn Road on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. When officers arrived, they discovered 32-year-old Akeem Broadway suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers secured the scene and notified MEMS who responded and transported Mr. Broadway to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Homicide Detectives were notified and responded. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased victim to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area, looked for surveillance video, and spoke with witnesses. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Northwest Division.
