On Monday, January 27, 2025, at 6:11 p.m., Northwest Patrol Officers responded to 6000 West Markham in reference to a subject down. When officers arrived, they discovered 47-year-old Cynthia Gregory suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. MEMS responded and transported Gregory to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time later. The scene was secured and officers notified Homicide Detectives who began an investigation. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and the next of kin was notified.

Homicide Detectives along with the Crime Scene Search Unit were notified and responded. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area and spoke with witnesses. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Northwest Division.
