On Saturday, March 23, 2024, Southwest Patrol Officers responded to a shooting at 41 Nandina Circle. Upon arrival, officers located 33-year-old Andre Allen suffering from apparent gun shot wounds. MEMS responded and attempted life-saving measures however, Mr. Allen perished at the scene. Officers secured the scene and notified Homicide Detectives. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. During the course of the investigation, 31-year-old Justin Cross was transported to Major Crimes for further investigation. After questioning, Mr. Cross was released without charges pending a file review. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Southwest Division.
