On Wednesday December 20, 2023, patrol officers with the 12th Street Division responded to a ShotSpotter activation call for service at 3424 W. 14th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. MEMS and RESCUE responded and attempted life-saving measures; however, both individuals succumbed to injuries at the scene. Officers secured the area and notified Homicide Detectives. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased bodies to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy. One victim, 20-year-old Modesti Allmon, was identified at the scene and next of kin was notified. The next of kin notification for the second victim is pending the outcome of the State Crime Lab findings. 

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.

#Update: 17-year-old Kevin Mitchell was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Capital Murder in connection to the 3424 West 14th St. homicide.
