On Friday January 5, 2024, patrol officers with the 12th Street Division responded to 3113 West 11th Street in reference to a call of a subject bleeding from his chest area at the location 3312 West 11th Street. Officers arrived and made contact with and individual, later identified as Christopher Hurvey who was suffering from a severe injury to the upper chest area. MEMS responded, began life-saving measures and transported Mr. Hurvey to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. It was later determined, he suffered from an apparent gunshot wound at 3113 West 11th Street. Officers attempted to make contact with the residents there with negative results. Homicide Detectives were notified and responded. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was later notified.
The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. Detectives obtained a search warrant for 3113 West 11th Street after finding what appeared to be blood on the porch; however, no one was in the residence when the search warrant was executed. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.
