What: UALR Institute on Race and Ethnicity 2nd Annual Civil Rights Heritage Commemoration and Celebration

The UALR Institute on Race and Ethnicity will hold its 2nd Annual Civil Rights Heritage Commemoration and Celebration on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the William J. Clinton Presidential Park. This year’s event will honor the Little Rock Nine, L.C. and Daisy Bates and attorney Christopher Mercer Jr.
The day begins at 9:45 with a Commemoration Ceremony during which civil rights heritage markers will be placed on President Clinton Avenue. At 10:30 a Community Forum will be held featuring a discussion on “Examining the Legacy of the Little Rock Nine – On the Path to Excellence in Education:Lessons for Today through the Lens of 1957.”
