On Monday May 20, 2024, patrol officers with the 12th Street Division responded to 2401 South Pulaski Street in reference to a shooting at that location. Upon arrival, officers discovered 20-year-old Joshua Brown suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers secured the scene and notified MEMS who responded and transported Brown to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Homicide Detectives were notified and responded. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased victim to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area, looked for surveillance video, and spoke with witnesses. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.

Update: On June 7th, Ryan Frierson was extradited to Little Rock where he was served with Capital Murder warrants for this homicide.
