Patrol Officers with the 12th Street Division responded to a shooting call for service at 2:50 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 1305 Johnson Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 39-year-old Christopher Price, lying on the ground in front of the house, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later by MEMS. Officers secured the scene and notified Homicide Detectives. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner responded to the scene and transported the body of Mr. Price to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.
