(Little Rock – November 18, 2008) Earlier this year, the City of Little Rock started a planning process for the revitalization of the 12th Street Corridor. City Director Ken Richardson announced today that there will be another community meeting on the project on Thursday, November 20. It will take place at 6:00 pm at the Willie L. Hinton Neighborhood Resource Center, 3805 West 12th Street.
“We had a great first meeting with the consultants and the community in the summer,” said Director Richardson. “Since that time, the neighbors have been talking to me and to each other about their visions for 12th Street and the entire Mid-City area of Little Rock. Meanwhile the consultants have been continuing their assessment of the opportunities and challenges in the area. We felt it was time to bring everyone together again for updates.”
Crafton Tull Sparks Associates is working with City staff from various departments and elected officials to develop the 12th Street Corridor plan. The process is anticipated to be completed by early September of 2009.
