On Wednesday September 13, 2023, northwest patrol officers responded to a shooting call for service at the Main Stay Hotel at 10800 Kanis Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered 30-year-old Jonathan Foster suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. MEMS responded and began life-saving measures while transporting Mr. Foster to a local hospital where he would eventually succumb to his injuries. Subsequently, officers secured the location and notified Homicide Detectives and responded. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner responded to hospital and transported the body of Mr. Foster to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. One person was detained and transported to the Major Crimes Division for questioning. After further investigation, Capital Murder warrants have been issued for 32-year-old Brandon Jones. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.

#Update: On Friday, September 15, 2023, 27-year-old Kaitlyn Johnson was taken into custody and charged with Capital Murder and trafficking Fentanyl.
