10220 Sibley Hole Road Homicide)

At 1:41 p.m., on Sunday, March 23, 2025, Southwest Patrol Officers responded to a disturbance at 10220 Sibley Hole Road. While en route, Emergency Communications advised officers they had received another emergency call from the referenced location stating an individual had been shot. When officers arrived, they located 40-year-old Charles Gantt Jr. who was suffering from an apparent gunshot injury. MEMS and RESCUE responded, however, Mr. Gantt died on scene. Officers secured the area and notified Homicide Detectives. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Southwest Division.

#Update: On March 25, 2025, Tony Smith Jr., 21, of Little Rock, was taken into custody and charged with Capital Murder. This investigation is ongoing.
