Our Mission
Pick It Up! is Little Rock’s new citywide initiative to encourage and inspire residents, businesses, and visitors to take an active role in picking up litter, preventing pollution, and building pride in our shared community.
Why Pick It Up? Litter affects everyone—it can damage human health, harm local wildlife, clog stormwater drains and pollute our rivers and natural spaces.
How You Can Help! There are several ways to get involved in the Pick It Up! campaign:
- Borrow cleanup supplies and Pick It Up!: Each branch library in Little Rock has litter kits you can check out to make cleanups easy. Kits include a litter grabber, trash bags, and a safety vest. Check out the public catalog view here.
- Adopt-a-Street, Adopt-A-Park, Adopt-A-Trail: Take ownership of a section of the city and commit to keeping it litter-free. These programs are open to individuals, families, community groups, and businesses. Learn more about street adoptions here and City park adoptions here!
- Report Litter Hotspots: Help us identify areas that need attention. Use the City of Little Rock’s 311 system to report problem areas. Download the 311 app on your phone, click 311 at www.littlerock.gov or call 3-1-1 to report an issue!
- Participate in Organized Cleanups: Join a Keep Little Rock Beautiful cleanup or organize an event in your neighborhood. Volunteers are always needed to help restore local parks, streets, and public spaces.
- Promote the Pick It Up! campaign: You can purchase an official campaign t-shirt at Trio's Restaurant, located at 8201 Cantrell Rd (within Pavilion In The Park), or at Rebsamen Golf Course, located at 3400 Rebsamen Park Road. Let’s get the word out, grabbers out, and Pick It Up!
Make a Difference Today! Whether you’re picking up litter on your daily walk, volunteering at an organized event, or participating in a city adoption program, every piece of trash picked up makes a difference. Thank you!
