Legislative Activities
The Intergovernmental Relations Office (IGRO) was established in 1998 to execute the City’s established legislative agenda in the Arkansas General Assembly. The IGRO actively pursues the passage of City sponsored bills, supports legislation that may have a positive impact on the City’s delivery of services or revenues and actively opposes legislation that may have a negative impact on City delivery of services revenues /expenses.
The Mayor, the Little Rock City Board of Directors and the IGRO Staff work very closely with the Arkansas Municipal League, the Pulaski County legislative delegation and a highly effective coalition of Pulaski County civic, educational, private and public organizations to articulate the legislative interest of the city and county. Each City Department designates a staff member to monitor and provide impact assessment of bills that affect their department revenue or operations.
