Virgil Miller Jr.

Ward 1

Virgil Miller serves as the Ward 1 Director. He was appointed to fill a vacancy on the City Board in October 2021, and elected to a four-year term in November 2022.

Director Miller is a graduate of Wilbur D. Mills High School and Arkansas Tech University. He has more than 40 years in the banking industry, mainly in CRA compliance and community development. Miller’s career in the financial services industry began in 1977 as a management trainee for Savers Federal Savings and Loan. He currently works as the Group CRA Director at Arvest Bank Operations and has his real estate license.

Miller has received numerous professional and community service awards, including: the Arkansas Humanitarian of the Year Award, Willie Oates Volunteer of the Year Award, and the Inaugural Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership Award, among others. He currently serves on the boards of Arkansas Capital Corporation and 100 Black Men of Greater Little Rock. He is an active volunteer within the community as well.

Miller is a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church and has four beautiful daughters.
