NAT BANIHATTI, P.E. l (501) 371-4812WHAT: A public meeting will be held to discuss plans to reconfigure the pavement markings on portions of Chester (I-630 – Roosevelt Road) and Daisy L. Gatson Bates Drive (Martin Luther King Jr. Drive - Commerce Street) as part of the City of Little Rock’s Resurfacing Program. The meeting will be held at the Dunbar Community Center, located at 1001 W. 16th St., Little Rock, Ark. on Thursday, Nov. 13, beginning at 5:30 p.m. This project is located in Ward 1.
The current pavement markings consist of two vehicular travel lanes in each direction. After resurfacing, the roadway striping will be modified as stated below:
Chester Street (I-630 Southside to Roosevelt Road):
Pavement markings will include a three-lane section with two vehicular lanes (one each direction), a continuous center-turn lane and dedicated bicycle lanes.
Daisy L. Gatson Bates Drive (Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to State Street)
Pavement markings will include a three-lane section with two vehicular lanes (one each direction), a continuous center-turn lane and dedicated bicycle lanes.
Daisy L. Gatson Bates Drive (State Street to Commerce Street)
Striping will include one travel lane in each direction. The remaining center portion will be used to stripe a two-way left-turn lane. The travel lanes will have sharrow markings to indicate shared use by vehicles and bicycles.
Representatives from Public Works Traffic Engineering and Civil Engineering Division will be present to discuss the project and to receive public input.
