Tomorrow morning, City and Community Leaders will celebrate the beginning of a long awaited project to build a new $11.9 million police station on 12th Street. The new LRPD station will serve as a key anchor along the 12th Street Corridor helping to revitalize this area.

After years of planning this 44,276 square foot building will become a reality in 2014, helping improve safety and provide needed services to citizens. Another aspect of the project is streetscape improvements that will help set the stage for future improvements that are part of the award winning 12th Street Corridor Plan. Part of the funding for this portion is being paid for by a grant from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.

East Harding – Adevco Construction will start preparing the site over the next week for construction. RPPY Architects designed the building and streetscape improvements. There will be some temporary traffic alterations for the next year to allow construction crews access to the site, but in the long term it will be a great investment.
