Civil Service Commission
The Civil Service Commission was created by Arkansas Code Annotated 14-51-201 et. seq. - Little Rock City Code, Section 2-112. Each of the commission's seven (7) members serve six (6)-year terms. The Civil Service Commission is responsible for the establishment of promotional procedure guidelines, hearing of citizen complaints against sworn police and fire personnel and the hearing of disciplinary appeals of sworn police and fire personnel. Members must be residents of Little Rock for more than three (3) years and must complete a questionnaire when applying for a position.
The Civil Service Commission meets each month (or as necessary).
