History

Benny Craig Park occupies 22 acres of low-lying land adjacent to one of the principal branches of Fourche Creek in the southwestern part of the city. Initial development of this park was accomplished in 1968. Originally called “Gum Springs Park”, the park was renamed in honor of long-time local sportscaster, Benny Craig.
