On Sunday, May 24, 2026, at approximately 12:11 a.m., LRPD Officer Rafael Aguilera was stopped by Arkansas State Police on I-40 in North Little Rock for speeding. During the stop, he was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and was arrested. He is charged with Careless and Prohibited Driving, Speeding more than 15 mph over the limit, Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle, and Driving While Intoxicated. Officer Aguilera was off-duty at the time. He has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation. He has served with the Little Rock Police Department since August 2018.
