Allsopp Promenade

The Allsopp Promenade is a scenic gateway connecting the Hillcrest neighborhood to Allsopp Park. Lined with mature trees and overlooking the wooded ravines below, the promenade provides a peaceful space for walking, jogging, biking, and enjoying one of Little Rock’s most iconic park landscapes. It also serves as the western trailhead for the Allsopp Trail, making it a popular starting point for outdoor recreation.

History

The Allsopp Promenade has long served as the primary entrance to Allsopp Park and reflects the park’s historic relationship with the surrounding Hillcrest neighborhood. Named alongside the park in honor of Frederick W. Allsopp, the promenade has become a recognizable public gathering space and scenic overlook for generations of Little Rock residents.

In recent years, the promenade has become an even more important recreational hub with the completion of the Allsopp Trail improvements, providing a direct connection into the park’s extensive trail system while preserving the area’s natural character.
